New shipping rules in affect......You must email your tracking number to me within 24 hours "after shipping your package" so I can track your package and know when it arrives. Folks who don't ship as agreed can be expected to be denied service in the future. I have many folks who want work done and not shipping as agreed will not be tolerated, period. Make sure your return address (to ship back to) is on the box or shipping label. We "must" ship back to the return address on the box or label. If the return address is not on the box or label, the pkg will be refused. "only UPS shipments" will be accepted from the 48 states. Due to problems with the mail service and Fed-Ex, no shipments by USPS or Fed-Ex will be accepted. We use UPS to ship them back.

Mil-spec Parkerizing

This is a special note about parkerizing. Many places offer a parkerized finish for firearms. I have done mil-spec nickel manganese phosphate coatings on firearms for state and Gov't agencies all over the U.S. for 23 years. Not all parkerizing is mil-spec. I will only offer and use "mil-std" nickel manganese phosphate and "mil-std" sealer. If the parkerized finish is not sealed with a mil-spec sealer, it's not "mil-spec, period.

******Important information regarding parts disassembling******

I disassemble each and every part , remove any burrs and then clean all parts before parkerizing. All barrels are plugged before going in the parkerizing tank and all parts are rinsed with water thoroughly after they come out. All parts are then coated with a mil-std sealer for a lifetime of use. Other companies charge much more ($175-$250) but, we beat the competition, hands down. We don't charge outrageous extra fees for cleaning either, because it's included in the price. Others charge up to $40 as an extra fee to clean parts alone. Even though they include refinishing the gas system, some don't need it which is why I only charge $15 if it does. Even with the gas system included, their price is much higher. All parkerizing is guaranteed by me, to meet your approval.

Our Parkerizing is a very dark charcoal gray, black color. Color may be slightly lighter due to the hardness of the metal being parkerized.

I will work on the following M14 type receivers.

Polytech, Armscorp, Springfield, LRB, Smith, Fulton, Fed-Ord

My main interest is in building rifles, not the refinishing business. Thanks for your understanding on this matter.

__________________________

Polytech & Norinco owners must read this about USGI bolt conversion

This information will educate you about how to avoid so-called gunsmiths & armorers who claim they know how to do the USGI bolt conversion to your Polytech or Norinco.

If others charge a fee for a tech inspection, that's your first clue that you should find someone else to do the work. They should already know what needs to be done, not trying to educate themselves by working on a customers rifle.

I never charge a fee for a tech inspection, ever. I don't need to because I know what needs to be done to install a USGI bolt properly. Also, the Chinese barrel "can be used" when I do the USGI bolt conversion. "You don't need a new commercial barrel" as most so-called gunsmiths claim. Bottom line is they just want your money.

Please remember that Chinese rifles converted to use a USGI bolt by these inexperienced people will not be accepted by me, to do work on. The USGI bolt conversion is not being done correctly by those people because they don't have the experience to do it right.

I will only accept Chinese rifles with a USGI bolt conversion already done, if Smith Ent. or myself did the work. It's my intention to help customers avoid very costly mistakes.

I have done 1000's of these bolt conversions and not 1 customer has ever had a problem. My reputation far exceeds me  and customer satisfaction is always guaranteed. I have been doing the USGI bolt conversion on Chinese receivers for over 22 years. The other so-called gunsmiths are just starting and have no experience at all. You be the judge. I believe you will make the right choice and rely on a true expert with years of experience.

M14, M1A,

PLEASE READ

In the last 6 months we have received many rifles with excessive fouling, dirt, grit and grease. It appears that about 25% of our customers are not properly maintaining their equipment. I'm now requiring "all" rifles to have detailed cleaning done before shipping to us. If we need to clean excessive amounts of grime from rifles to do the work wanted by customers, a $20 cleaning fee will apply. The military taught me that a properly maintained rifle will always function correctly and wear & tear on parts will be a minimum.

M14 gas cylinder unitizing is no longer available (until further notice).

Some folks believe they have USGI gas cylinders when in fact they are aftermarket SA Inc. or some other aftermarket gas cylinder which is harder to unitize, therefore adding to the cost. I've tried to explain the reason for the added cost for this work so many times, that I can not justify doing this work any longer. Please don't ask me to make exceptions, thanks.

**Custom work**

Bevel bolt stop roll pin hole in the front only

This is a much needed modification for those who service their own rifles. Half the M14-M1A receivers have a front roll pin hole that is half closed, which means that you can not remove the bolt stop roll pin to replace the bolt stop. You could crack or damage the bolt stop bridge by forcing a 1/16 pin punch into the front of the roll pin hole. I also offer this service to customers (at an additional charge) when you send a parts kit to be built, or other work done by me. Below is a photo of my "custom" modification................... Cost is $20.00  (does not include refinishing receiver).

Weld op-rod receiver lug

If you have an op-rod that fits loose in the op-rod track of your receiver, then the receiver lug (tab) is most likely very worn. I can weld it up and reshape it to as new condition. You can then fit it to your receiver for a much better fit. This will save buying another op-rod that will fit your receiver correctly. I also offer this service to customers (at an additional charge) when you send a parts kit to be built, or other work done by me. I also refinish the op-rod  before returning it to the customer. Cost is posted under the above price list. Below is a photo of before and after the welding was done.
